Gong Xing Fu graduated from the Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 1961. During his time as a student at the academy, Gong had been able to grow a sturdy foundation in painting under the personal tutelage of both Masters Zhao Meng Zhu and Tian Shi Guang. Gong then became a renowned artist, a professor of the same academy he graduated from, a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a Director of the Liaoning Chinese Traditional Painting Research Council, and was a specially invited professor of the Beijing Art Academy of the PLA.
His artworks mostly feature a selection of birds, embracing a rigor that attests to his works transcending beyond mere paintings. The birds that he paints emanate and symbolise prolific significance, like longevity and prosperity. The bright colors across his paintings provide a sense of joy and optimism for the viewer.
Gong’s artistic career and achievements have been selected for inclusion in List of China’s Modern Artists; Dictionary of China’s Modern Famous Figures; Dictionary of International Modern Seal Cutting Artists of Painting and Calligraphy, and other books.
