Goh Siew Guan was born in 1942 in Singapore. He served diligently as a full-time art educator for three decades with the Ministry of Education (MOE). After his retirement from MOE, he devoted more of his time to painting.
Mr. Goh is apt at painting landscape, trees and rocks as these are his forte. He has mastered the technique of watercolour and is able to express his mind through a variety of objects. In particular, he uses the technique of blanking and lifting out meticulously. By observing his paintings, you will be intrigued by the way he depicts boughs and twigs, as well as the rugged rocks. Mr. Goh travels around the world to experience nature as all these places help create a deep bonding between the earth and his heart. He is mesmerised by nature, especially forests, boulders, undergrowth, streams and rivers.
