Zhang Da Lun

Zhang Da Lun graduated from the Fine Art Faculty of Henan University in 1990. Da Lun enrolled into the research study at Central Fine Art Academy in the year 2000 and obtained his postgraduate degree at the end of his two-year study.
As a member of the China Artists Association and Henan Art Society, Zhang is currently a full-time artist residing in Beijing.
Concise strokes and unconventional ideas are just one aspect of Zhang’s artistic methodology . Zhang’s paintings are imbued with deep cultural meaning while being stylistically contemporary and full of character. His works portray a fusion of the old and new, a meeting of both traditional and contemporary techniques. Through his visual use of romanticism and a lively abstract style, Zhang’s paintings are indeed telling of his extraordinary philosophical and artistic attainments. His earlier and recent exhibitions have paved the way for the prowess of this artist. In 2003 he was selected to participate in the 100 Contemporary Chinese Artists Exhibition. In 2004-2005, his paintings were exhibited in the China Art Expo in Beijing and the Shanghai Art Expo. In 2006, Da Lun participated in the Grand Figure Painting Exhibition of Life, Peace and the Earth in China. Da Lun even brought home a Gold Award for his chosen work at the National Pre-Olympic Art Exhibition in 2007. From the years 2005 to 2007 his works were invited to auction at prestigious auction houses by the likes of Christies China, China Pan Long, Beijing Rong Bao and Beijing Baoli, where his work was bid for high prices by the likes of willing art collectors.
He has exhibited in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and San Francisco on various occasions. His painting, “Old Tune” was hammered at a high price during his 2008 Singapore visit, on behalf of Global Auction Pte Ltd.
