Huang Xiong Wen is a successful professional painter, who graduated in 1992 from the faculty of Fine Arts in Guangxi Normal University, where he majored in oil painting.
He is known primarily for painting human figures, animals, and landscapes. Recently, he had ingeniously created thirty pieces of oil paintings depicting the awe-inspiring life of the giant panda, China’s national treasure. Many of his paintings have been showcased in prestigious art exhibitions both in China and abroad. For Huang, painting nature is not about replicating nature, but working in harmony with nature.
Giant pandas are an endangered species and the rarest member of the bear family, with fewer than 1,600 left in the wild. For his artistic endeavour, Xiong Wen spent endless hours in Sze Chuan examining the giant panda's behaviour and movements. He is able to encapsulate the full brilliance and beauty of this wonderful creature through his sharp observation and seasoned sense of aesthetic in his oil paintings. Artists like Huang Xiong Wen are ever growingly important in this modern age, as they act as a voice for conservation in dire times for an endangered species like the panda.
In the recent years, Huang Xiong Wen's paintings have been displayed in five major local art galleries. Many of his works have been purchased by organisations, governmental and private institutions, and private collectors from all around the world. In addition, he has been commissioned to create large-scale murals for luxury hotels in China.
