Gao Shi Xiong (b. 1921-2019) is a calligraphy artist well known at home and abroad. At a young age, he learned the art of calligraphy from his father, and when he turned 20, he received guidance from renowned artist, Zhao Shu Ru.
He embodies free-style calligraphy as the shape of his font is magnanimous to capture his entire content, which embodies descriptions entailing details of rivers and tales of being cautious.
In 2009, Gao won the Contribution Award of the Chinese Calligraphy, Painting and Printing Exhibition, and in the same year, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles awarded him the honorary title of the 60th anniversary of his work in New China's literature and art.
