Jason Tay Lim Lim (b. Singapore 1952) family originates from Xiamen, Fujian. Since childhood, he has learned scriptwriting from his father and loves drawing and calligraphy at a very young age.
He was under the tutelage of local artist Stephen Leong, as well as the late Chinese ink painting master Wu Shigui, and the calligraphy teacher Zhang You Shuo. He taught ink painting and calligraphy in elementary and middle schools since 1990, and for more than 20 years he had participated in joint painting and calligraphy exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions. He has also won numerous awards and often donates his works for charitable causes.
His paintings of flowers and birds are mainly divided into ink pigment sketches and Chinese brush sketches. However, due to the influence of Chinese paintings, Jason’s creation of ink wash paintings has attracted the interest of many art collectors.
