Chen Qing, female, was born in Guizhou, China. She had strong interest to paint since childhood, and her interest eventually lead her to learn from famous French-Chinese artist Jia Juanli. With the inspiration from the art pieces displayed at Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the combination of emotions derived from the global COVID-19 pandemic, Chen Qing felt that she needed to draw something that is positive and full of vitality. Hence she chose Singapore National Flower – Orchids as a subject matter in many of her new paintings in this exhibition; as it has the meaning of "excellent and splendid, immortal for all generations", and full of spirituality and tenacious vitality, unrestrained and gorgeous flower posture.
Chen Qing graduated from Beijing Normal University with a master's degree. She was a director at the Singapore Art Society. Currently a member of Guizhou Artists Association, and a director of Zunyi Oil Painting Society in Guizhou, and a permanent member of Singapore Art Society. A large number of paintings were selected for domestic and foreign art exhibitions and won many awards. In 2019, her paintings were selected for the 13th National Art Exhibition in China (Ministry of Culture, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles) , hosted by the China Artists Association. Many of her works are in private collectors home as well as various institutions worldwide.
