Qi Da Cheng

Qi Da Cheng is a member of the Chinese Artists Association who now lives in Shanghai. In 1975, he began to study Chinese landscape painting where he found his affinity for elements of botany and fauna, such as the plum, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum.

He is a traditional Chinese painter who engages in Ink paintings that depict the vast and alluring landscapes of rural China. His primary medium of choice is Chinese ink on rice paper, as he uses his paintbrush to create intricate markings to complement the delicate nature of the medium. Much of his paintings depict rocky landscapes, mountains and rivers.

Qi’s works have been shown in many exhibitions locally and abroad, and have won their fair share of awards. In recent years, he has held more than 30 personal exhibitions at home and abroad, and participated in more than 20 art fairs.

The piece "Moonbaptized Mingyuan" was collected by the Keyuan Museum of the four famous gardens in Guangdong. Many of his works were collected by Japanese collectors and art museums.

"Chunxin" was selected into the World Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition hosted by the China Artists Association, and was prestigiously compiled into the World Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition Collection.

The work "Flower Street" won the Excellence Award of the 2nd National Minority Works Exhibition hosted by the China Artists Association, and was auctioned in the Beijing Brilliance 2005 auction. In the same year, his work "The Great Wall" was collected by Guangdong Humen Opium War Museum.
