Wu Mu Li graduated from the Fine Arts Department of South China Normal University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree. He is a painter specially invited by the Poverty Alleviation Office of the Ministry of Culture, a member of the Artists’ Association of Guangdong, and a routine Director and Vice Secretary-General of the Guangzhou Landscape Painting Research Board. Excelling at Chinese landscape paintings in watercolours and Chinese ink, he is also an academician of the Huizhou Art Academy. He has a solid foundation of realism and adapted to his own personal style. His works were published in Chinese colleges and universities painting professional textbooks.
Wu specialises in Chinese ink and watercolour painting, with his artworks incorporating a more muted colour scheme, as if to showcase the mundaneness of the sceneries he painted. The overall elements of his paintings are compact to one another, pulling focus on the nature of the landscape settings that fill up nearly the entire rice paper, minimising any negative spaces.
