Born in 1968 in Israel, product designer and multidisciplinary artist, Sammy Nidam, currently lives in Bangkok. He has background of 20 years in the design of retail products, lighting fixtures and artworks, which have been exhibited and sold in galleries throughout the years.
Alongside designing for many years, the passion for painting has always been present throughout Nidam’s career. With broad inspirations from different disciplines and cultures, the effects on his creations often vary, combining the perspectives of both the designer and artist in him. The painting process is very spiritual for Nidam as he considers it a sense of transcendence; filtering sight and thought, altering them into new forms and associations, challenging perceptions and assumptions.
